The exhibition DISRUPT_ challenged the limited perception of queerness, creating a space for artists to express their identities without constraint. Defying the queer erasure often perpetuated by art institutions and gatekeepers, the exhibition celebrated artists who redefine creative boundaries by disrupting societal norms. Through the integration of Web3 technologies like blockchain with physical art, DISRUPT_ broke barriers once reserved for an elite few. Mikael Owunna showcased Amma's Womb, an animation from The Dogon Creation Trilogy. This trilogy of digital animations, encoded on the Ethereum blockchain, merges images from Owunna’s Infinite Essence series with spiritually charged Dogon ideograms, blending ancient knowledge and ritual magic with cutting-edge technology in the arts.
