In a Pot of Hot Soup was an exhibition showcasing the vibrant landscape of contemporary Nigerian art, featuring both digital and non-digital works. The exhibition explored how artists use their creative voices to engage with political issues in Nigeria. Drawing on culinary metaphors, the title reflected the rich diversity of Nigeria's visual art scene, spanning various media including photography, animation, video, and mixed-media art. The showcased works highlighted how Nigerian artists respond to the complex local and national politics that shape their environment.
Mikael Owunna contributed to this exhibition with 4 Queer African Women in the Snow, an image from his Limitless Africans series. His work, which focuses on the experiences of LGBTQ African immigrants and refugees, added a nuanced layer to the exhibition’s conversation about identity, politics, and the intersection of personal and collective narratives.
